An organisational side effect is an effect a design additionally produces: unplanned, rarely documented, but never without consequence — defensive numbers, cynicism, silent withdrawal.
Context
Side effects are usually noticed as behaviour problems rather than as design feedback. Reading them as design feedback is what makes responsibility for effect operational.
