The criteria and forms of knowledge an organisation uses to judge whether a design is successful and which effects require correction.
Success evaluation defines which effects count as improvement. A lower average processing time can coexist with harmful delays for particular customers. Metrics matter, but so do observations from daily work and the experiences of affected people. Design responsibility includes weighing these effects and deciding whether targets or priorities need revision.
