Interpretation Architecture

DE: Deutungsarchitektur

The recurring terms, explanations and stories through which an organisation interprets reality and derives action.

At B CULTURE, interpretation architecture describes the recurring explanations through which an organisation makes sense of reality. These direct attention towards some causes and interventions while leaving others less visible. Describing a delayed project as a responsibility problem directs attention to people; describing it as unclear decision rights directs attention to organisational conditions. Neither explanation is automatically correct. Their assumptions and effects need to be examined.
